Who we are
A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.
We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.
We use a third party, Clicky, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. This helps us work out how many people visit our site and how they engage with it, to help us make it better. This data is anonymised and neither Club Sock nor Clicky can find out the identity of those visiting our website.
Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us. Cookies are used by virtually all websites accessible today.
As part of the registration process for our newsletter, we collect your name and email address. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by sending us a message via our contact page.
When you purchase a subscription, we collect certain data to process that subscription. This includes your name, your mailing address and your payment details. This data is held securely and is held only for the purposes of sending your subscription to you each month. When you purchase a subscription for someone else, please ensure that you have their permission to provide their data to us.
We use a separate company to process and fulfil orders. To enable this to work, we must pass your name and address to them so that they can process the order. The information is transferred through a secure portal and is used by the fulfilment company only for the purposes of dispatching the order – they are not passed any contact details and have their own policy stating that data provided is used only for fulfilment purposes.
Access to your information
You are entitled to view, amend or delete the personal information that we hold. If you would like to do so, please send us a message using our contact page.
